Pasture Raised Chicken
Our chickens arrive to us a day after they are hatched. They spend about 3 weeks inside the barn with the warmth of a heat lamp available to regulate their body temperature.
After they have grown the necessary feathers to endure the outside air, they are introduced to our pasture. They are moved to bottomless pens known as "chicken tractors." The tractors are used to provide shade and protection from our local predators. They are moved often to ensure a fresh supply of grass and bugs while leaving behind nutrients for the pasture. We provide high quality Non-GMO feed from a local feed mill to supplement their diet. We do not use antibiotics, growth enhancers or other chemicals.
